The competition
Take on 28 routes in a 90-minute qualification session and compete for a place in the finals. For Novice and Intermediate climbers, Blocs For Fun is a chance to test your skills and build competition experience—whether it’s your first event or your next challenge.

INTERMEDIATE
MEN / WOMEN
Participants must not have previously placed in the top 3 in Intermediate or reached the finals in Open at local promotional competitions in Singapore.
ELIGIBILITY NOTE National team climbers (both senior and youth) from Singapore or other countries in the region are not eligible for either category.

Competition format
Choose your preferred qualification session when you register. Each session has up to 50 climbers and 90 minutes on the wall.
01 Qualifications +
Take on 28 routes in a carnival-style session. Choose your routes and collect points through an honour-based scoring system. No zones—only tops count.
02 Points & attempts +
Routes increase in value from 10 points for Route 1 to 280 points for Route 28. A flash earns full points. A top on your second or any later attempt earns the route value minus 1 point. The deduction happens once, not on every attempt.
Example: Route 1 = 10 points for a flash, or 9 points for a top on any later attempt.
03 The finals +
The top 6 climbers in each category advance, with ties allowing up to 8 finalists. Each of the four categories has 4 final routes, with 4 minutes per route. Finals follow a concurrent format and are judged by officials.
